We are incredibly proud of the generosity and support of our school community in fundraising for The Irish Red Cross Ukraine Appeal. The Student Council were inundated with baking donations . We have some very talented bakers among us! Thankfully, we had enough for all of our classes to receive a treat (or four!) An unbelievable total of €1500 was raised for our Lá Glas & Bake Sale. Well done to everybody and go raibh míIe maith agaibh go léir.
To celebrate World Book Day 2022 at Convent Primary School our pupils dressed up as their favourite book characters. World Book Day 2021
This year was a bit different as our younger pupils were the only classes present in school on the day. However, this didn’t stop the Senior classes from marking World Book Day at home. Our younger pupils dressed up and brought in their favourite book to share with their class while our senior pupils sent in videos and photographs presenting their favourite book.
Friendship Day 2022
On June 8th we celebrated Friendship Day at Convent Primary School. It was great to see so many pupils wearing their jumpers inside out to represent that how we look on the outside may not reflect how we feel on the inside. First class presented a whole school assembly on the theme of friendship. Our new canine friend Frank really enjoyed the girls singing! A massive thank you to everyone who donated towards our Friendship Bench and Friendship Stop. We raised just over three hundred euros!
Friendship Day 2021
On Friendship Day, secret friends swapped their home made gifts with each other. Teachers and staff were blown away by children’s generosity, kindness, creativity and the thought they put into their gifts. Well done everyone.

Mrs Ann Cronin Retirement
It is with mixed emotions but with every good wish that the staff, pupils and parents of CPSM bid farewell to Mrs Ann Cronin on her retirement. The children of the Oak Classroom (Early Intervention) made this beautiful video for their wonderful teacher. She will be hugely missed by everyone. Thank you Ann for all your hard work and dedication!

Tree Classroom Art Exhibition
In October we held our ‘Tree Classroom’ Art Exhibition in the school hall. Each classroom in our school has been officially named after a native Irish tree. Children in each class designed and created the art works in the art exhibition. All classes really enjoyed visiting the hall to see the beautiful artwork which will be hung outside each classroom.
National Tree Week 2022
The Green Schools Committee members and the First Class students were visited by John Casey (Teagasc) for National Tree Week 2022. He told us all about the importance of biodiversity in the environment and how as a school we must endeavour to protect our environment. With the help of John we planted many different varieties of trees such as birch, oak, pine and beech trees.
National Tree Day 2021
To celebrate National Tree Day we invited our former Deputy Principal Mrs. Anne Murphy to our school to plant a ‘Mountain Ash’ Tree and some daffodil bulbs in our school garden patch.
